China Automobile Supply Chain Conference Held in Wuhan

At the 2022 China Automobile Supply Chain Conference and the first China New Energy Intelligent Network Automobile Ecological Conference held on the 28th, leaders of domestic automobile industry, industry experts and scholars and representatives of government agencies discussed solutions to industry challenges, and discussed how to build a new ecology of the industrial chain and achieve a new leap in building a powerful automobile country.

With the theme of "Integration and Innovation, Green Development ― Building a New Ecology of China Automobile Industry", this conference was jointly guided by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Hubei Provincial People's Government and China Machinery Industry Federation, and co-sponsored by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and Wuhan Municipal People's Government. The main forum, sub-forums and many activities of the conference were held in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone.

According to the forecast, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China expected to exceed 5 million in 2022, the development of new energy vehicles will be greatly accelerated in an all-round way.

Fu Bingfeng, Executive Vice-President and Secretary General of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said that since China has entered a new development stage of electrification and intelligence, new energy vehicles and intelligent network links have entered a new track with an increasingly larger market scale, which is leading the industrial transformation in China. Fu Bingfeng believed that the automobile industry should gather the innovative forces of all parties, leverage the strong leading role of the industrial chain, and make great efforts to create a new ecology of the industrial chain.

Under the development trend of "electrification, networking and intelligence”, the automobile, a simple means of transportation, is changing to mobile intelligent terminal, energy storage space and digital space. According to Zhu Yanfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Dongfeng Motor Corporation, the ecology of automobile supply chain is changing from the traditional chain relationship to the network ecology with multi-agent participation, and the "friend circle" of automobile is getting bigger and wider.

Tang Chao, Director of the Management Committee of Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone, introduced the layout and planning of the Zone in the fields of new energy vehicles, chip and screen technology and intelligent network connection. He said that after more than 30 years of development, Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone has become the region with the highest concentration of domestic automobile industry, and has the foundation and conditions to build the central hub of automobile industry supply chain under the new development pattern. At present, Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone is moving from "China Auto Valley" toward "World Auto Valley".

At the conference, the outstanding innovation achievements of China automobile supply chain in 2022 were officially released, the "China Auto Valley" intelligent network and electric vehicle industrial park located in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone were unveiled, where a number of major automobile supply chain investment projects in Wuhan were signed on site.
